Ottertrack to Ely

by Bill

Our trip is coming to a close.  After being out for 7 days and traveling over 95 miles and packing our gear over 30+ portages we find ourselves paddling across a familiar lake.  Knife lake famous for so many reasons from a spot used by many to make the sharp edged tools needed to survive to the home of Dorothy Molter.  We paddled under sunny skies making our way back out to Ely.  This half of the Voyagers highway was a great trip.  The sights are amazing and the history of those traveling before you humbles one as you pack your lightweight canoe over the portages.  Thanks for joining us on this trip, it will be one I remember for the rest of my life.

Bill……wonderful show! I highly recommend watching in HD if one is able as the screen is large and the video very sharp! I’ve missed watching a few episodes and will shortly go back and review them, Keep up the good work!

What a great video! I was able to escape to my favorite place, the BWCA, and take a mini canoe trip from my desk.
    I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

[…] Sneak peek If your kid-like enthusiasm is growing, or you want to experience some of the remoteness described by Rick, click the link below and select “Ottertrack to Ely”. This video shows some of the “Up North” water paddled, and portages portaged, by prior Exchange Program crews. You may well paddle and portage there, too. http://www.bwcacast.com/ottertrack-to-ely/ […]
