Leaving Knife Lake – The Show

After spending the day exploring around Knifes Lower Arm we packed up our camp and headed out.  We took a different rout on the way out that brought us over a portage scraped down by the glaciers during the ice age.  We traveled through Ensign Lake where we show off a nice campsite. Jim talks about the effect the deer have one the area as they continue to push north.

About Bill

I grew up in Alaska spending as much time outdoors as possible. Camping, hunting, and flying consumed much of my free time. Upon moving to Minnesota I found the BWCAW to be a place that allowed me to escape to the wilderness. I love being able to share this amazing place with all of you. I hope you enjoy the shows.

A great season of shows Bill. We’ve really enjoyed watching them. I especially enjoyed the tidbits that Jim shared in today’s show.

I’m looking forward to a few winter editions to the program. Keep up the great work!

A great ending to your 2008 season of shows, Bill. I’ll be looking forward to some new segments for the summer of 2009 and maybe some nice winter views (dog mushing?) tucked in between! In the meantime, stay warm and drop into Seattle for a visit when you have the chance!

Great job on this season of shows. I enjoyed the info in this show on the bent paddle, watching for deer activity, and the dog/winter sled routes as well as your usual great video. Keep the videos coming!

I enjoy also seeing the Spring Creek yoke/seat you use. I bought one for my canoe years ago, probably around when they first came out, and it’s still getting the job done for me.

    Best wishes for 2009.

I really like that “cloaking” device you have installed in that canoe. Can you buy those locally? Thanks for your help Bill; the Hd videos are phenomenal. They really let you see the true beauty of the place as if you were looking on from another canoe beside ya’ll. Kat was just amazed at the high quality video your camera shoots. She just could’nt believe how clear they are. Next thing you know she’ll be making me buy a high definition monitor to dream about canoe country with. She watched every video I had downloaded so far. Again thanks for your help. Sincerely, Tony & Kat

    Hi Tony,

What cloaking device are you talking about? Are you referring to the yoke we use to carry the canoe? Let me know and I can get you some more info.

    Thanks for watching!

    Bill
