Mudro Lake to Wheelbarrow Falls Show

The first of three shows covering our last camping trip out of Mudro Lake.  This shows our journey from the beginning of the trip on into Horse Lake, down the horse river, and finally arriving at the Basswood river to camp.

We see some animals along the way, and paddle up to Wheelbarrow falls.  Jim offers up some background on how the border between Canada and Minnesota was decided and shows us the the first steps in using that dehydrated burger we made in a previous show.

Here is the whole trip laid out in google maps.  There were quite a few portages over all.  :)

About Bill

I grew up in Alaska spending as much time outdoors as possible. Camping, hunting, and flying consumed much of my free time. Upon moving to Minnesota I found the BWCAW to be a place that allowed me to escape to the wilderness. I love being able to share this amazing place with all of you. I hope you enjoy the shows.

This is our (my son and I) favorite rout into the Boundary Waters. I really enjoyed seeing it on video. Never thought I would see it. Now my wife will understand better what attracts me and our son to this place. Thank you.

@Paul Gausmann: Glad you enjoyed watching the show. :) We had an amazing time on that trip. I can’t wait to get back out there. It is such a beautiful place. It sure is easy to forget the “real world” while your watching the sun set over lower basswood falls.

We’d love to hear how your next trip goes.

    Thanks for watching!!

Just noticed your canoe, is that a Hemlock? Boy, I haven’t seen one of those in a long time!

Good eyes!! Yes we do paddle in a Hemlock canoe. We have thoroughly enjoyed using this in our trips. Its been stable for shooting video out of and portages very well. It is getting a little old and its had its fare share of fiberglass patch jobs at home, so we are beginning to think about finding a new addition to the show. Maybe one of those fancy canoe companies would like to sponsor the show by donating a boat ;) We can only dream right?
